The 76ers have their new general manager. The team has promoted Elton Brand to take on the GM role. Brand was serving as executive vice president of basketball operations after spending the last year as the GM of the Sixers' G-League affiliate. The 39-year old spent five of his 17 seasons as a player in Philadelphia, including his final year before retiring in 2016. Head coach Brett Brown had served as the Sixers GM following the departure of Bryan Colangelo in June.
