Washington State Coach Mike Leach Shames 'Fat, Dumb' Players After Loss

Washington State University started the season going 3-0, but the team's head coach Mike Leach is not happy after losing two straight games. Last weekend, he watched as his team blew a 32-point lead third-quarter lead against UCLA and it wasn't much better against Utah on Saturday (September 28).

Following the Cougars embarrassing 38-13 loss, in which they gave up 526 yards, Leach called his players "fat, dumb and happy and entitled."

"I think we've got a bunch of free agents running around there that think they're pretty special, and then as soon as something doesn't go their way, they want to pout," Leach said.

Washington entered the game against Utah as the top-ranked passing team in the country, but could only manage to gain 252 yards through the air, and Anthony Gordon threw two interceptions.

"It's tough to say how tough Utah was because we provided no resistance on either side of the ball. We're a very soft team," Leach told reporters. "We get a lot of good press. We like to read it a lot. We like to pat ourselves on the back, and if we get any resistance, we fold."
