Cam Newton was recently asked if he would trade his MVP Award for a Super Bowl ring and he was unapologetic in saying he would not. He then proceeded to double-down on his selfishness and explain why, as long as he was doing his job, he had no other obligations to the team. Covino & Rich won’t be inviting him to be a motivational speaker for any Pop Warner teams anytime soon.
Steve Covino: “He’s saying the exact opposite of what every other championship leader says...no one else says it because it makes no sense. That’s the most selfish answer, and self-serving, self-centered answer you could give as a team player on a team sport...”
Rich Davis: “You’re allowed to be selfish when you’re not a pro!”
