RENO, Nev. -Ceonna Pipion closed out Fresno State's indoor opener on Saturday with two wins at the Silver State Invitational held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The senior began her day by winning the 400 meters and ended the day with another in the 4x400 relay.
Pipion cruised to a win in the 400 with a time of 53.43. Alongside teammates Itzia Mejia Garcia, Janae Heffernan and Ella Spaulding, the senior helped lead her team to a time of 3:43.05.
Individually, Garcia Mejia also placed fifth in the 60 meters. After clocking a time of 7.58 in the prelims, the transfer went lower in the final, finishing in 7.53. The time is tied for the third-fastest in program history.
Also on the track, Colleen Uzoekwe took third in the 60-meter hurdles. The multi-event athlete qualified for the final with a time of 8.78. The senior dipped to 8.55 in the final, the third-fastest time ever by a Bulldog.
In the shot put, Emma Harper posted the Bulldogs' top result, placing fourth with an indoor-best mark of 13.22/43-4.5.
